1 week back at work

Hi All
Thanks for the great couple of days down in the big smoke. it was great to catch up with everyone and to see that we haven't lost the ability to party. We're a pretty tough crew even Mum boogied the night away.
My new job has been a tad boring. I have spent most of it sitting at a desk. next week however the fun starts I will be visiting Beswick, Barunga and Jilkminggan. hope I got the spelling right as I don't have a map infront of me. The following week is the remote schools conference where I catch up with a heap of bush teachers and the following week will probably be Ngukurr and Minyeri but that is yet to be confirmed. Ngukurr and Minyeri will be by light aircraft.
The BIG news is that our Will will be coming to stay with us for two weeks from tomorrow. He is up for trade school. I just hope the rain isn't so bad that we can't get out and do stuff. both Claire and I are really excited as he is the first family to visit (apologies to Joe mob). Mum you will be pleased to know i have put an Air Con in the visitors room so you can come and visit now in some sort of comfort.
I will try and keep you up to date with my travels as they happen. Miss you all.

Love
Marty and Claire

Greetings from the south coast

Hi all,
Happy new year for 2009! Hasi and I are back home from our travels.
It was all fantastic- I truely am the happiest when I am travelling. Hasi and I went back to Tirtagangga in Bali where we met 16 years ago!!
We especially loved te east - Sumba and West Timor. Mart when they start flying again from Darwin to Kupang we are so going-so close and such a culture shock, you are going to love it.
The chooks are huge, I dont know what Moo and Jules have been feeding them, but they are just about to start a diet.
I cant wait to catch up with everyone on the Cunj weekend!!
Love to you all,
Zak

back to work

Hi all. Thanks Dad for your entry. We had a great time in Sydney with Marty and Moo. It was great to see Michael and Birgitte as we hadn't seen them in a few years. Sunday night was a hoot. Lucy was amazed that Uncle Marty kept his clothes on!! Great to see Mum up and dancing. That coffee table must be tough, with all the dancing that has gone on it in the past few years, I seem to recall Kate, Moo and I all on it a few years ago. We had a great few days in Mollymook, even though the surf was pretty dumpy on tuesday arvo. It was a little better on Wednesday, but on Wednesday arvo when we returned to the beach about 3 it was full of seaweed. Poor Clare was torn between staying in with seaweed wrapping around our legs and scratching them or getting out as we were leaving thursday. I placated her by telling her we would be at Cunjurong last weekend of Feb. Had a lovely birthday dinner in ulladulla with Steve and girls at a restaurant overlooking the harbour. Have spent my last week of holidays around home, not doing much. Stephen and Michael went to Pambula to visit Damien, so girls and I had the weekend on our own. Actually, Lucy was working for a lot of it, so Clare and I had time to ourselves. Watched a few midsomer murders and some movies and a lot of "Friends". Back to work tomorrow, but not a hard day, am going to National Portrait Gallery then to lucnh with members of the SOSE ( I think you people in NSW call it HSIE) faculty and other performing arts staff. As yet do not have a music teacher for this year, we need one for three lines, met the new boss last week as I popped into school for something. Got in good with him by mentioning he knew Stephen. Anyway that's about all for now, good luck with uni Tom, Year 11 Liam and the start of high school for Connor. See you all (except for Marty) at Cunj. Oh, sorry, good luck with your new job Marty. Love Annie xxx
Hi All
All the students and pedagogues are gearing up for the school year 2009. Best wishes to you all.
When I told Hasi on his return that the proposed strike was called off he was most upset thinking he had two extra days to prepare for the year - really 2 days without the kids.
39 Railway Pde was back to its old form on the weekend Jack and Fran and the boys, Annie and Steve and the girls, Moo and Jules, Marty and Luke shook Penshurst into life.Kate and Hasi arrived back on Friday. I have never seen such an array of goodies they produced; gifts for everyone; some real treasures for their garden; even toys for the chooks.
It has been a wonderful holiday period for Joan and I and we are quite sad that it has come to an end.
I thought that with the Glenbrook Isos on the blog we would have some rollicking good tales supplemented by others from the Canberra "push". It appears their computer time is heavily into computer games. Let's hope we get some regular news as the year progresses.
Feb 28/Mar 1 looks good for Cunjurong. Hope we can all make it.
Good Luck Tom at Uni; Liam and Lucy in Yr 11; Clare Yr 9; Connor into high school.
Best Wishes to All for an enjoyable, successful and prosperous 2009.
Love Dad & Mum.

Greetings

Hi All
Congrats Tom on getting into Sydney university and good luck with it.
Spoke to the Wrights on Tuesday and told them we are wanting a weekend at Cunjurong. Told them the weekend of 28th Feb/1st March so can everyone please confirm if this suits - sooner rather than later please.
Hope everyone is well and happy.
Kate and Hasi return tomorrow so we welcome them back and soon we will head out on the road for some travels.
Jules and I worked as volunteers at the Illawarra Folk Festival last weekend. Was a great experience and we are now looking at volunteering for Cobargo on Feb 20-22.
Take care and have fun
Love Moo & Jules xxxx
