hi everyone
Cunj looks as beautiful as ever. How lucky we have all been over the years to have been able to share this place. A little slice of paradise! Its now over a year since Hasi and I have been down, which is quite disgusting, and should be rectified in the not too distant future.
I have just seen the auction sale sign for Irenes house on the way to mum and dads this morning. Of course the owners had to do the inevitable, and put in a "modern bathroom and kitchen" Devastating news to me as I loved both the original kitchen and bathroom, but thats what happens. I should be a saviour of older houses.
Dad and I are off to Myers to buy some clothes for him. Mum says he needs cords-red or lime green?? Probably lucky for dad Myers dont stock those colours, otherwise I couldnt resist.
We swum on Tuesday evening-water still over 20 degrees. Looks like it could be good weather for the weekend-yahoo. Low tide 4pm today, so perfect for a good long walk and swim. Cant wait!
Hope alls well with everyone, Cheers Zak

Winners all
Hi All
"The further you are from your last win the closer you are to your next".
Nana took five tickets in the Jesuit raffle each year putting them in the name of her five children. I have followed this procedure in the years since Nana died. I've previously not said anything because of the unlikeliehood of winning. Also because of the unlikeliehood of winning and the continued warning of "fake " phonecalls I have decided to let you know what I have done in case you get a phone call and "blow it".
When I told the Lady Kate what I had done she was quite excited about it and suggested that I let you all know.
Nana has been entering this raffle for at least the 20 years that I have been her "power of attorney" and probably 30 years before that so we are getting closer to our next win (I wish). The raffle, a car, is drawn on May 6th. Don't hold your breath! but ..Don't disregard that phonecall!
Happy Birthday Marty for the 24th. That completes the Australian cycle, we wait six months for the o'seas component to catch up.
Marty, have you got the problem with your Blog fixed so we can get more of your stories and photos? Make sure it's fixed before September when we hope to get a full account of the girls visit, with photos.
Steve's photos of Cunjurong stir the emotions. Joan and I with Uncle John and Moira, Aunty Kate and Friz will be there the week end before Easter. I might even take some photos. Annie and Steve had great weather for their Canberra week-end there. I hope Steve left some yabbies for us.
More next time. There's no photos this time.
Love to All Dad/Tjilpi/ Old Man/Kev.

greetings from the south coast
Hi all,
We have returned from an amazing long weekend at Womad in Adelaide. The whole thing was completely awesome, and I truly loved every minute of it!! Great music from all corners of the world, delicious food, great accommodation. We loved the Central markets, where we ate truely authentic malaysian food, wondering why there were so many white people around, till we realised we were in Australia and not Malaysia. We wanted to bring that old mama cook back home with us.
I know you would all have loved it. It took me twenty years of talking about it to get there, but Ive done it, and will definitely be going again.
This weekend will be back to the chores. A good scrub out of the house, and then attacking the jungle that was once a garden. Still trying to get the rest of the tiles off the bathroom floor, which is driving me crazy.
Thanks for thinking of me at Cunj, Annie and Clare. Book me in for next year, and then we can all do Womad the following year!!
With mum and dad today, so I better sign off, and put the billy on.
Love to you all, Zak

news from the capital
Hi all. Back from a great weekend in Cunjurong. The sun shone on Saturday and Sunday and has been the pattern of our last few years there was overcast and drizzling today. Unfortunately due to all the rain when the lake was flowing our it was very brown and not very nice to swim in. Flowing in it was beautiful and blue, but still shallow.Kate, Clare and I really missed you yesterday, especially when we were wallowing in the lake as we always do! It was great to see it open again as last year it was closed and quite stagnant. Our trip down was a little slow, because due to a fatal accident on the Kings Hwy (and another one on Sunday!!) everyone went the shortcut through Nerriga. We also had to go the longer way through Braidwood, we usually go through Tarago and turn off at Bungendore (avoiding most of the traffic) but the ford we cross was flooded. So the traffic was a nightmare, and the road from Braidwood isn't as good with a lot more gravel to drive on. However the mighty commodore did us proud again! I now call it the old warhorse! So after a great weekend of eating far too much and drinking a little less!! we decided to go through Kangaroo Valley as we had a little more time and we thought we might enjoy the drive. Wrong decision!!! It took us six, that's right, six hours to get home. Thanks to the RTA, there was a lane closure at Marulan. It took us two hours to get from just south of Exeter to Marulan- a distance of less than 20 kms!! We didn't arrive home till after 8pm. Michael and Tina decided to go to Gerringong on the way home to see someone they met on their cruise. Michael rang us at 7pm to say they were stuck, I don't think they'll be home before 10! Such shame to end a great weekend with the trip home. Next Sunday we are off to Wagga for the day to visit Lucy- Clare is coming as well to check out where she is living. She is missing Lucy a lot- as are Steve and I. That's about all our news. Love Annie

greetings from the south coast
But wait, there's more.......rain. Please earth goddess extradionaire let Adelaide be sunny this weekend!! and of course Cunjurong as well for the canberra mob travelling over.(I think you need more prayers than I can muster up for that one). I know you are laughing your head off Moo, and thinking just get over it. Easy for you, you are used to this type of summer, and I suppose the territorians are thinking the same.
Where does it all come from?? Its pissing me off just listening to it. sleep seems to be the only way to escape it for a few hours.
Hope everyone is safe and well, if not dry.
Love Zak
P.S. I was very relieved to hear from Lucy this morning that she is safe. Her boyfriends place, oops sorry I mean the uni is on a hill!!

My yard is flooded - 22 years here and that's NEVER happened. Had to walk through running water to get to the beer fridge - may have to re-assess what goes in the inside and what goes in the outside fridge. It's all a matter of survival priorities and you can live for weeks without food ! :-)
stay dry

greetings from the south coast
Hi all,
Well guess what, its still bloody raining!! I know I shouldnt complain. We have a home that doesnt leak and now a car that doesnt leak either, but I dont have a dry pair of shoes left. The front path is now a dam, and the creek is a thundering river. But really you can ask Hasi, Im no good with this much rain, and I will add neither is he, not to mention the poor soaking chooks!!
Hence my womans camping with raku and pit firing at Sidney Nolans property on the Shoalhaven had to be cancelled. This is very sad.
However I am hopeful that Adelaide will be a blaze of sunshine for the womad festival next weekend. I focus my excitement on that!!
Hope all's well with everyone, especially Jack on his birthday. Oh yer, he's not reading this so I better give him a call. I do know he does do texts now, so I'll start with that.
Have a good weekend, Love Zak
