news from the capital
Hi everybody, yes it has been a slow start to the year. Haven't done much at all these holidays, spent most days sitting around watching mostly rubbish TV. Have discovered 13th St on Fox- a mystery murder channel so have been watching lots of Blue Murder with Caroline Quentin and Taggart with that gorgeous Robbie Ross!! Steve, Clare Lucy and I made our regular pilgrimage to Sydney- I stayed on a few more days to have a bit more time with Mum and Dad and to catch up with Anne Plummer. Lucy gave me a Harbour cruise for Christmas, so Steve and I went on that on the Monday night after my birthday. I had never been on a harbour cruise and kept saying I wanted to go on one. It was lovely. Great to do it in summer with daylight saving. It is obviously designed for tourists I think we circled the opera house and harbour bridge at least three times! As Kate said, I had a lovely day with her on Friday, despite getting dumped in the surf twice! Australia Day we went out to the river with Lisa (Michael's daughter), Terry and their daughter and a friend of theirs. Lucy heads off to Wagga for uni in about a month, Carmel is taking us all out for lunch tomorrow to the Hyatt for their seafood lunch. We think Lucy has a job in Wagga-a pharmacy rang her last week so hopefully she will have work when she is there during term time, and will also get holiday work at Florey. School starts for me on Wednesday, though I have to go in for a meeting on Tuesday. The holidays have gone so fast, and I can honestly say have done nothing- Steve and I went to the Renaissance exhibition, and this week I have caught up with friends who I used to work with. Time to go and start thinking about dinner. Love you, Annie

greetings from the south coast
Hi all,
My excuse is, Im not much on the computer in the summer, especially when ABC 2 have been replaying Dr Who for about the last 4 weeks.
Also we have been working on the bathroom, which as we all know, it always takes twice as long as you think it's going to.
Moo, you are lucky you and jules didnt come here for the summer. It has been very poor. Barely a day over 30degrees, and so much rain in the Illawarra, which stops us getting out much.
However the Illawarra Folk festival, was excellent as always, and Moo the Beez were a great crowd pleaser-very quirky. It was great to have Jack down for the Saturday night and even more amazing was that a miracle occurred and Mark and Clare also came out to play!!
Annie graced the Illawarra with her presence last week, and we had a great day together.
Hasi is back at work today, poor love, but luckily only another 10 weeks till his next holiday.
Im hanging out with mum and dad today. Cricket on both the radio and tv-whats new ha!!
Can Toy Abbott ever say anything decent??
Keep the fire burning!!
Cheers Zak

Welsh Greetings
Hi All,
It's a quiet start to 2012 on the blog. Either everyone is very busy so there'll be loads of posts to come or there is nothing happening with anyone. I hope it's the former. With me it's the latter.
It has been a very slow start to the year here. I have my first shift of the year today - finally! Was beginning to worry I may have to find a real job. Jules has been suffering with a bit of sciatica which continues to trouble him. It means he is unable to get much done around the place - and makes him quite miserable. Fortunately, the weather has remained quite mild for January (have to include the weather in any conversation in Britain. It's the rules.)
Maria and Kevin have booked their flights to come to this side of the world. We get to see them in September I believe. Don't have a definite itinery from them as yet but am greatly looking forward to showing them the delights of Wales.
Had bad news last week when my friend Betty passed away. A lovely woman who will be greatly missed. Awaiting funeral details.
Hope all is well with all over there. Happy Australia Day.
Love Moo xxxxx

greetings from the south coast
Hi all,
A quiet christmas mosaicing the bathroom with mirror. of course took longer than expected, but now just have to grout. Will definitely need a day off work to do this, if Hasi doesnt want to do it.
We spent New years down at Meroo National Park. What a beautiful place, and we had never heard of it before. We were joined by several other friends and had a beautiful time together in the bush by the sea, and the tea tree lakes.
Next weekend is the Illawarra folk festival!! Check out the lineup. Moo,s favourites "The beez" from Berlin are playing, and they will definitely be a high light. Heaps of space at ours if anyone interested in making a night of it.
I will take monday 16th off work to catch up with Lucy and Care while they are in sydney. If you two are reading this have a think what you might like to do. Maybe check out the sydney festival program for that day/night to see if any thing interesting is on.
Sun is just coming out, so off to have a stroll along the beach with a friend, and hook up with another friend in Thirroul for some sunday arvo champagne sipping in the garden. How pleasant!
Thanks to Jack and Fran and boys, for a beautiful and relaxing time at theirs at christmas. It really was a lovely time together.
Well Im off to cruise the northern Illawarra with my lovely girlfriends.
Take care in 2012. Stay healthy and happy
Love Zak
