news from the capital

Hi everybody, yes it has been a slow start to the year. Haven't done much at all these holidays, spent most days sitting around watching mostly rubbish TV. Have discovered 13th St on Fox- a mystery murder channel so have been watching lots of Blue Murder with Caroline Quentin and Taggart with that gorgeous Robbie Ross!! Steve, Clare Lucy and I made our regular pilgrimage to Sydney- I stayed on a few more days to have a bit more time with Mum and Dad and to catch up with Anne Plummer. Lucy gave me a Harbour cruise for Christmas, so Steve and I went on that on the Monday night after my birthday. I had never been on a harbour cruise and kept saying I wanted to go on one. It was lovely. Great to do it in summer with daylight saving. It is obviously designed for tourists I think we circled the opera house and harbour bridge at least three times! As Kate said, I had a lovely day with her on Friday, despite getting dumped in the surf twice! Australia Day we went out to the river with Lisa (Michael's daughter), Terry and their daughter and a friend of theirs. Lucy heads off to Wagga for uni in about a month, Carmel is taking us all out for lunch tomorrow to the Hyatt for their seafood lunch. We think Lucy has a job in Wagga-a pharmacy rang her last week so hopefully she will have work when she is there during term time, and will also get holiday work at Florey. School starts for me on Wednesday, though I have to go in for a meeting on Tuesday. The holidays have gone so fast, and I can honestly say have done nothing- Steve and I went to the Renaissance exhibition, and this week I have caught up with friends who I used to work with. Time to go and start thinking about dinner. Love you, Annie
