Hi All
This will be my last entry from Australia. Today is our last day here and we fly tomorrow morning. We've had a fabulous time. More of the luck you mentioned Claire (glad you liked the Christmas gift). We are extremely lucky to have such generous relatives that allow to stay in their homes.
Jules & I finally used the great gift Jack gave Julian for Christmas - a voucher for a meal at Samuel's Restaurant in Thirroul. On Wed night we were joined by Kate & Hasi to dine in style. Very good food and company was enjoyed. Starters of seared scallops with orange, rocket and almond salad, goats curd and asparagus crown with beetroot glaze, and sauteed prawns with crispy cauliflower & pumpkin, olive oil poached baby truss tomato and salsa. Our mains were also delicious - veal scallopini with fresh oregano & garlic rub, beef bourguignon, carrot & pinenut gateux with creamed mushroom sauce, and open ravioli of poached blue eyed trevalla with mustard and asparagus sauce. Doesn't it make your mouth water. Choosing side dishes were equally as difficult. We decided on chickpea, baked ricotta, spinach & honey salad, herbed garden salad, green beans with dill & chilli, creamed garlic mushrooms, pan fried eggplant with tumeric & yoghurt, creamed spinach with walnut, pumpkin & sweet potato bake, and french style peas (braised with onion & lettuce). We, of course enjoyed wine and beer with the meal and topped off with a nightcap of tequila when we got back to Kate & Hasi's. Thanks Jack.
Wednesday was a big day as we also disposed of our car - to Mark & Clare Riordan and family.
Have read "Looking for Alibrandi" Clare, and Mum and I watched the DVD on Tuesday night. Thanks Fran.
Last night Mum, Kate, Jules and I played chocolate scrabble - I won the golden chocolate!
Off to see Helen Moore after lunch with Mum & Kate.
Almost finished packing. Just waiting for the washing to dry.
Great seeing you all over the last 6months. Thanks for the party invite Steve. We won't be attending. Have a great night and have a drink for us.
Next entry from Wales
Love and hugs
Moo (& Jules) xxxxxx
