Well we have made it through our first cyclone. The night before they upgraded it to a cyclone was actually worse than the cyclone. There was over 400mm of rain which soaked the ground and once the wind started the trees just fell over. Luckily we had removed most of our big trees so we made it through relatively unscathed. Joe had a tree come down but luckily it fell away from the house and Chappie had a couple of big palms come down but again away from the house. The cyclone has been downgraded to a tropical low and we hope that it just continues to move away. It hasn't rained all day but it has just started again (the rainfall record for February has been broken). The school has been closed for the last two days and Claire hasn't been able to get to Batchelor but we both go back to work tomorrow. Good tides for fishing this weekend but I think the weather will keep us at home.
Cheers Marty Claire and Buddy
