Hi all,
It's a very quiet New Year's Day in this sleepy town of Pearl Laguna.
Very interesting New Year's Eve. More than half the towns people were dressed to the nines and attending one of two churches in town, starting from about 10pm.
I went into one of them to check it out, Hasi sat outside as he had a bottle of rum in his back pocket, which he didn't think would go down well.
There was a main guy leading, and several singers on stage. The congregation were singing, waving their arms and really celebrating bringing in the new year.
I think it may have gone into the early hours of the morning, but I'm not sure as we were in bed before midnight.
Today is a holiday, so not much happening. We are having a few evening beers by the lagoon as the sun sets.
Tomorrow we will catch the 7am boat back to Bluefields, then hopefully get another one further west to ElRama. Not sure about wifi for the next few days, but will post if I can.
Hope alls well with everyone. Thanks for the email Jack, always appreciate an update.
Hope we all have a happy and healthy 2017
Love to all, Zak
P.S read about the stuff up with dates for Melbourne Annie. An extra day there sounds great.
